One dies in Adamawa explosion

An abandoned Improvised Explosive Device by suspected members of the Boko Haram exploded on Sunday, killing one person and injuring two others in Lugda village of Maiha Local Government Area of Adamawa State.
Reports from the area indicated that someone among a group of youths had picked an abandoned bag, which he threw to a burning fire around 6.30am. Continue...

It was learnt that there was a loud explosion shortly after the bag was dropped into the fire.
One person died instantly while the injured were rushed to the Federal Medical Center, Yola, for treatment.
Adamawa State Police Public Relations Officer, Othman Abubakar, while confirming the incident, explained that the situation
happened as a result of ignorance of the victims, who acted without prior knowledge of the content of the nylon bag.
