Recently, she established the
Rose SHARON Healthy Living Centre in the beautiful heartland of Jos from where
Vanguard had this chat with her.
What is the Rose Sharon
Healthy Living Centre and why was it established?
Rose SHARON Healthy Living Centre is a public health clinic with
the purpose of teaching healthy living lifestyle and reversing disease.
As a medical doctor why are you more passionate about
healthy living than about drug use and medication?
I am a medical doctor, but my field is Public Health, which
primarily promotes healthy living, and disease prevention because it is cheaper
and easier than cure. When people learn to live healthy they are more
productive to themselves, to their families, and to the society.
Most times when people wait till they are diagnosed of an
illness, the disease burden is already heavy, and usually difficult to totally
cure. Most of the common ailments are totally preventable so our
focus in the medical world should be on prevention, rather than wait for diseases
to emerge before we try to tackle them.
Our passion at Rose SHARON HLC is therefore to achieve our
vision which is “Healthy People, Healthy Society.”
In your years of medical
practice, what are the health trends you are most concerned about?
There’s a frightening epidemic of obesity, even in children, diabetes, cancers, arthritis, kidney problems and a
host of others. Younger and younger children have poor vision and have to wear
eye glasses. Children are being diagnosed with adult onset diabetes. Cancer has
become as common as malaria. These are all preventable diseases.
What are those lifestyles that
are most unhealthy and injurious?
It’s what we coined as the acronym C.A.N.C.E.R, which stands for
Contaminated Air, Nutritional Carelessness, and Environmental Rot. Our
atmosphere is heavily polluted by all kinds of smoke and chemicals, many people
and families eat carelessly, and dangerous meals; there’s an epidemic of fast foods outfits where unwholesome meals
are served; families depend on snacks and do not eat healthy meals; the
environment is rotten, and to worsen it trees are recklessly been cut down
without being replaced.
Trees help to purify the air, but when they are indiscriminately
cut, and then the polluted air cannot be purified. All these are disturbing
trends that directly affect people’s health negatively.
What are the specific services
available at Rose SHARON and who are they directed at?
At Rose SHARON HLC we help people detect hidden disease
conditions on time, treat and reverse chronic disease conditions so that
patients do not have to live forever on drugs which will eventually damage
their liver and kidneys; we also offer a healthy living training series called The C.A.N.C.E.R Free
Lifestyle as health
solutions to individuals, families, and corporate organizations.
Can you tell us a few of the
health conditions you have been able to successfully address using the Rose
SHARON approach?
We have helped a number of people reclaim their health from
hypertension, diabetes, arthritis, obesity, pot-belly, chronic fatigue, stomach
ulcers, allergies, migraine, and other chronic disease conditions.
Basically, we offer them our home-grown therapy called
F.A.R.M-O-THERAPY (Food As Real Medicine); it is a therapy developed at Rose
SHARON HLC based on a non-drug approach to prevent, treat and reverse disease
especially in patients who have been sentenced to a life time of drugs.
One of such patients is a young girl who had been on medication
for 19 years for the treatment of migraine headache. Once she started our
F.A.R.M-O-THERAPY, her conditions improved and she doesn’t have to live with
drugs anymore.
Another interesting case is a middle-aged man who had been on
diabetic drugs for 30 years; we placed him on our F.A.R.M-O-THERAPY and his
blood sugar level began to normalize only a few weeks afterwards.
How is Rose SHARON HLC
different from the regular clinics?
Rose SHARON HLC is a purely Public Health Clinic with a focus on
disease prevention, promotion of healthy living and disease reversal.
We treat the patient as a person, not as a collection of
symptoms. We look at the patient in totality, as a person who belongs in an
environment.
Even though we believe that medication has its place, we do not
agree that patients must be sentenced to a life time of drug use because this
is very dangerous and damaging to the vital organs. With effective lifestyle
change we have been able to successfully assist patients reverse disease and
get off their medication.
Do you collaborate with other
health professionals in this practice?
Rose SHARON HLC will be coordinating the efforts of the Doctors
Charity, an American non-governmental organization which supports Doctors
working in Nigerian communities. Details of this will unfold as core activities
begin.
