No APC presidential aspirant has stepped down, says Fayemi

Chairman, National Convention Planning Committee of the All Progressive Congress, APC, Dr. Kayode Fayemi has refuted claims in some quarters that some presidential aspirants have stepped down for General Mohammadu Buhari.
Earlier we reported that Owelle Rochas Okorocha, has stepped down for General Muhammadu Buhari. Continue..
But speaking ahead of the commencement of voting at Teslim Balagun Stadium in Lagos, Kayode who is also the immediate past governor of Ekiti State said he was aware of such development.
“I don’t have any aspirant that has stepped down. I am not aware of any aspirant that has stepped down”, he said.
Five prominent Nigerians are in the race to clinch the party’s presidential ticket for the general election next year.
They included former Head of State, Gen. Mohammed Buhari, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Governors of Kano and Imo states, Dr. Rabiu Kwankwaso and Chief Rochas Okoroacha respectively.
Fayemi also gave reasons why voting was delayed that as at 8:45 pm, delegates were yet to be seated for the exercise.
“We cant be sharing space with Abuja people. We want Nigerians to watch them and see what they want to do, so when they finnish their coronation we will start our election”, he stated.
