Moses inspires Stoke to victory as Ogbeche scores

Super Eagles’ forward Victor Moses returned from injury to inspire Stoke City to a 2-1 win at home to Swansea City in the English Premier League on Sunday.
The Nigerian, who missed last week’s two legged African Cup of Nations qualifiers against Sudan, was fouled in the 41st minute leading to Charlie Adam’s equalising goal in the 43rd minute after Wilfired Bony had put the visitors ahead in the 34th minute also through a penalty kick.
Although Moses squandered some chances to score a goal, he was however instrumental as he helped in the build up to Jonathan Walters’ winner in the 76th minute.
In the English Championship, Nigerian forward Jude Ighalo was on target in Watford’s 3-0 away win over Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday. Continue...
The forward, who has now scored two Watford goals, scored the game’s opener in the 21st minute to give control of the game to his club.
Also, former Eagles’ forward Batholomew Ogbeche scored for Cambuur in their 2-2 draw at Heerenveen in the Dutch Eredivise on Sunday.
The out-of-favour striker scored his sixth goal of the season in the 55th minute to start a comeback for his side, after they had gone down by two goals in the 1st and 49th minute before Etienne Reijnen ensure the comeback was complete in the 67th minute.
Also, Eagles forward Ahmed Musa on Saturday scored a brace for his club CSKA Moscow in their 6-0 win over Kuban Krasnodar in the Russian Premier League.
The Nigerian, who played the entire duration of the match, was on target for the first and fourth goals in the 14th and 70th minutes to ensure his side have the three points.
Musa has scored six goals in all competitions for Moscow so far this season and the club sit second in the log with 24 points from 10 matches behind Zenit St. Petersburg, who have 26 from the same number of matches.
Meanwhile, Mikel Obi was an unused substitute in Chelsea’s 2-1 win over Crystal Palace on Saturday. In France, Eagles’ goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama conceded two goals on Saturday as Lille’s lost 2-1 away to 10-man Guingamp in the French Ligue 1.
The Nigerian’s goal was breached in the 45 th and 57 th minutes by Claudio Beauvue and Ronnie Schwartz before Antonio Mavuba reduced the tally for the visitors in the 79 th minute.
In Israel, John Ogu and Austin Ejide’s Hapoel Beer Sheva on Saturday drew 1-1 at Anthony Nwakaeme’s Hapoel Raanana.
While Ejide and Ogu played the entire match, Nwakaeme scored for his side in the 18th minute before Melikson levelled the score for the visitors after 79 minutes
