Striker Obafemi Martins was on target twice for Seattle Sounders in their 4-2 away win against Chivas USA in an American MLS match played at the StubHub Center on Wednesday night.
The former Levante star who had openly declared his intentions of playing for the Super Eagles again got his first half brace to ensure his side remains top of the league.

He extended Seattle’s lead five minutes later when Clint Dempsey sprung Lamar Neagle along the left seam. As Neagle crossed into the box on a breakaway, the forward laid off a short pass to Martins on his right who calmly placed the shot toward the back of the net.
Sounders FC were four goals up before their hosts pulled two back in the closing stages of the game.
With this feat, the Nigerian now boasts of 12 goals this season while his club remains atop the Western Conference log with 51 points from 26 matches.
