Baba Sala hospitalised, son says dad is stable

There is uncertainty over the health condition of ace comedian, Moses Adejumo, popularly known as Baba Sala, as he was rushed to the University College Hospital, Ibadan, late Monday for age-related ailment.
Adejumo’s son, Emmanuel, on Tuesday told our correspondent that his father was taken to the hospital after initial treatment in an Ilesa hospital failed to cure an old-age related sickness he developed on Saturday. Continue..

He however said that the 80-year-old comedian was responding to treatment and that his condition was stable.
Emmanuel said his father requested for pounded yam on Tuesday afternoon after he was resuscitated by doctors at the hospital.
He did not reveal the cause of Baba Sala’s sickness but he told our correspondent that the octogenarian needed oxygen when he was first taken to the hospital in Ilesa on Saturday.
He said, “Baba Sala is getting better in the UCH. He even demanded to be served pounded yam in the afternoon. He is speaking normally and responding to treatment. He fell uncomfortable on Saturday and he was taken to Adewale Hospital in Ilesa and he was better. On Sunday, he fell sick again and he returned to the hospital. The doctor said he would need oxygen to treat him properly.
“After talking to our sister who is a matron in the UCH, it was decided that we should bring him to Ibadan since the doctors’ strike had ended. There is no serious cause for his discomfort but I think its old age. The symptom is common in old people,” he added.
Emmanuel, whose stage name is Boi Sala, told our correspondent that he had received calls from people outside Nigeria who wanted to know if his father was still alive.
“People called me to know if Baba Sala had died. I have told them that my father is alive and okay.”
