This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.” (Psalm 118:24)
The day the Nigerian Media World, especially the pacesetter, Vanguard Media Limited has been waiting for. One day when heaven is filled with His praises, is here at last!
Today, from across the City of Lagos, media practitioners, friends, relations and the general public will converge at the corporate headquarters of Vanguard Media Limited in Kirikiri Industrial Estate, Apapa, for a spectacular annual end-of-year thanksgiving service. Continue...
Since its inception several years ago, Vanguard Media Christian Fellowship has set aside a day to give thanks to God for His benefits in the outgoing year and pray for Him to be our refuge and strength; and a very present help in trouble in the coming year.
Members also offer prayers during the programme for protection, asking God to build a “hedge of protection” around the company, its management and staff in a harsh business environment.
Several eminent clerics such as the National President of Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, national coordinator of National Praise, Rev. Moses Aransiola, South West chairman of Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, PFN, Bishop Francis Wale Oke, National Vice President of PFN, Pastor Paul Adefarasin, founder of Soul Winning Ministry, Rev. Moses Iloh, among others, had at different occasions, blessed the company through the programme.
The late evangelist Sonny Okosun was also in Vanguard.
On November 30, 2010, General Overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, who was voted by Newsweek as one of the world’s 50 most influential people in 2008 was the guest minister at that year’s thanksgiving service. The General Overseer thanked God for Vanguard Media Limited as he prayed for hundreds of guests and members of staff of the Vanguard Newspapers in the premises of the company.
Pastor Adeboye used the occasion to charge the nation’s Media to take responsibility of the re-orientation programme of government instead of the current efforts by government agencies, extolling the virtues of the Vanguard Group, saying it is one of the three Nigerian newspapers that he reads regularly.
This year’s thanksgiving service/prayers which has grown steadily over the years and has attracted spiritual heavyweights from across the nation, is scheduled for 11.00 a.m. today with a theme; ‘Divine Success and Prophetic Breakthrough.’
The inveterate soul winner and General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Pastor Adeboye, who is making his second appearance at the programme, had graciously accepted to minister in the Word, make an altar call and pray for the company and its workers before departing the premises.
The programme begins at 11.00 a.m. and all attendees are, therefore, advised to be in the premises on or before 10.00 a.m.
