A 7.0
magnitude earthquake struck in the Molucca Sea off Indonesia late Wednesday
night, the U.S. Geological Survey said.
There was
no immediate report of any damage. No Pacific-wide tsunami is expected, the
Pacific Tsunami Warning Center said.
The quake
happened at a depth of 65 kilometers (40 miles) in the sea between the
Indonesia's Sulawesi island and the country's Maluku Islands at about 10:33
p.m., the USGS said.
