President Goodluck Jonathan on Friday urged the Super Falcons “to continue their glorious domination of African women football with another victory’’ by beating Cameroon in Namibia on Saturday.In a statement in Abuja by the President’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Reuben Abati, Jonathan also congratulated the team on their efforts so far.He urged the players “to go all out to continue their glorious domination of African women football with another victory’’.The Falcons will meet Cameroon in the final match of the 2014 African Women Championship (AWC) in Windhoek, Namibia on Saturday.They had on Wednesday beaten perennial foes South Africa 2-1 in the semi-finals, with the victory also earning them a place at next year’s FIFA Women’s World Cup in Canada.President Jonathan however urged the Falcons not to take it for granted that they will achieve victory against Cameroon. “They have to prepare very well and put their acclaimed football skills and strength to the best possible use on Saturday to achieve victory.“But I am quite aware that their scintillating performance thus far in this year’s AWC tournament makes them the bookmakers’ favourites to win the final match,” he said.The President assured the Falcons and their handlers of the full support and best wishes of the Federal Government and all football-loving Nigerians.Jonathan said that the assurance became necessary as “they strive to add another international sporting laurel to the glory of their fatherland’’.He called on other Nigerians to pray for the team’s victory, adding that he looked forward to receiving them in Abuja with the Championship trophy.
