NASFAT promises to improve members’ standard of living

An Islamic organisation, Nasirullahi-Fathi Society (NASFAT), on Saturday, promised to embark on programmes that would improve the standard of living of its members.Alhaji Mustapha Salman, the Missioner of the society in Omu-ran, Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara, made the pledge in a lecture he delivered at the association’s 2014 Women Week in Omu-Aran.Salman said “the fact that NASFAT is a religious organisation aimed at propagating Islam does not exempt it from contributing its quota to the development of its members.’’He said the Women Week was basically dedicated to allow members to interact with the less privilege in the society in order to uplift their morale.“The whole idea is to feel the pulse of the masses, preach to them, empower them and let them have a sense of belonging in the society. “The NASFAT Women Week is basically a week set aside by our organisation to visit some specific place like prisons, the motherless babies’ homes and other charitable ventures toward adding value to human existence.’’The missioner said that the association’s first assignment for the women week was an environmental sanitation round the community as part of its corperate social responsibility.He appealed to Nigerians to continue to intercede for the nation to overcome its socio-economic and security challenges.He added that “the country no doubt is in dire need of divine intervention as it passes through very difficult times since independence more than 50 years ago.“We should therefore make it part of our civic responsibilities to continue to offer prayers for solution to these problems,” Salman said.Alhaja Amudalat Popoola, the association’s Amirah in Omu-Aran (woman leader) expressed happiness at the successful outing and thanked members for their support.Highlight of the lecture was a special prayer for the state and the country at large.
