At least twenty persons are currently in hospitalised in various hospitals in Jos, the Plateau State capital as a result of the excess consumption of salty water.
According to a hospital source, over twenty persons are currently on admission in hospitals in the city.
“Most of the patients rushed to the hospital were hypertensive and some of the patients were stooling, due to excess consumption of salt.”
The source told Leadership that most of those hospitalised were women and children. Also, there are reports in the media that two persons have been feared dead due to the excessive consumption of salt. How sad!
Jonathan declares national emergency, votes N1.9bn
In a rapid-fire effort to stop the deadly contagious disease from spreading, President Goodluck Jonathan has declared the control and containment of the Ebola virus in Nigeria a National Emergency.
The president who also approved the sum of N1.9 billion as special intervention fund, which he said must be released immediately for speedy implementation, also ordered that the movement of corpses both internationally and within the country should stop henceforth till further notice.
