Veteran actress, Joke Silva's mum turned 89 yesterday May 16th. The respected actress shared words in celebration of her mum on social media. Taking to instagram, she wrote;

'My mama is 89 today. Dr (Mrs) Abimbola Silva. One of the first female medical Dr's in Nigeria. Lord I'm privileged to care for my gorgeous mama. Thank you.' Happy birthday to Mama Joke.

Boston Marathon bomber, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, 21, was this evening sentenced to death for killing three people and injuring 264 people in the 2013 Boston attack. Dzhokhar and his older brother planted two home-made bombs near the finishing line of the Boston race, killing people and causing grave injury. Some lost their legs. A former aide to Osama bin Laden has been sentenced to life in prison by a court in the US for conspiring in the deadly 1998 bombings of two US embassies in Africa.

Salisu Yusuf has been confirmed as the assistant to Super Eagles coach Stephen Keshi. Indonesian fishermen tow migrant boat to Aceh

More than 600 migrants from Bangladesh and Myanmar stranded at sea have landed in Indonesia's Aceh province, after being rescued by local fishing boats. Thousands of migrants, mainly from the Rohingya Muslim minority in Myanmar, are thought to be at sea after being abandoned by people
