OOU students protest against new tuition fees

Students of Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago Iwoye, Ogun State, paralysed activities on Friday in Abeokuta as their protest over the recent reduction of school fees in tertiary institutions entered its second day.
The students who started their protest as early as 6.30am, caused traffic gridlock on major roads like Oke Ilewo, Kuto, Ibara among others. Continue......
The students who became violent at a point, vandalised vehicles and other public property.
Some civil servants and others heading for Oke Mosan had to return home because the students virtually occupied the Presidential Boulevard leading to their offices and the governor’s office.
Policemen are now in strategic places in the state to prevent the breakdown of law and order.
An armoured personnel carrier has been stationed at Kuto Roundabout to prevent the students from moving to the governor’s office.
